(Mayor Sam Adams) It’s one thing to be gay; it’s another to lie about it and have an affair with a teenager.
Adams, 45, has been involved sexually with Beau Breedlove, now 21, who was 18 at the time that Adams and Beau had a relationship. This was back in 2005. Adams, when confronted with it, continually lied about it, telling the public that he had only acted as a mentor.
Now the major Portland newspapers, including The Oregonian, the Portland Tribune and the Portland Business Journal, as well as the main magazine Just Out representing the gay and lesbian community are all asking Adams to step down from his position as Mayor.
The City Council folk haven’t asked for Adams resignation yet but are concerned enough to be asking for an investigation.
In the meantime Portland folk wonder whether Adams will be like McGreevey and resign or like Ron Blagojevich, Governor of Illinois, and hang in. In any case, it is keeping the city attentive to the media’s report of the goings on.

There isn't a gay dominated jury in the country that would convict him!
Am i missing something here? the guy was of age right? why must he step down? Some straight mayors of this country im sure are married to girls 30 years younger than them...do they have to step down..i dont think so.!!!

If neither were married, and both are over the age of consent what's the problem?
I don't think a public official is obligated to 'kiss and tell'. If no one is breaking the law he shouldn't have to report who he sleeps with.
...and 'Beau Breedlove'...that's a made up name right?
