81% of Canadian Approve of Obama

A poll found 81 percent of Canadian adults approve of Barack Obama but they have concerns about the next U.S. president's potential impact on their country.

The EKOS poll of 1,000 people conducted for the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. between Jan 15-17 found only 3.8 percent of the respondents disfavor the former Illinois Democratic senator, while the balance said they didn't know or had no opinion.

EKOS President Frank Graves told the CBC the numbers are in stark contrast to previous polls about outgoing Republican President George Bush, whose disapproval ratings sometimes were higher than 80 percent among Canadians.(CBC.ca)
