Willie Aames & his Dark Past
Willie Aames, who starred with Scott Baio on the sitcom Charles in Charge, admits in his new autobiography that he was sexually abused at age 11 by a man he met on a pier at Huntington Beach.
Disturbingly, the National Enquirer reports that "the sexual abuse went on for a year." The tabloid does not elaborate on how exactly that worked. Willie claims he became an alcoholic by age 12, and was drunk much of the time on his 1977-81 hit show, Eight is Enough.

Heath Ledger Found Dead in NYC
Heath Ledger, the talented 28-year-old actor who gravitated toward dark, brooding roles that defied his leading-man looks, was found dead Tuesday in a Manhattan apartment, face-down and naked at the foot of his bed with prescription sleeping pills nearby, police said.
There was no obvious indication that the Australian-born Ledger had committed suicide, NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said.
Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the SoHo apartment that is believed to be the home of the "Brokeback Mountain" actor, Browne said. The massage therapist and a housekeeper found his naked body in the bed at about 3:30 p.m. They tried to revive him, but he was already dead.
"We are all deeply saddened and shocked by this accident," Ledger's publicist, Mara Buxbaum, said in a statement Tuesday night. "This is an extremely difficult time for his loved ones and we are asking the media to please respect the family's privacy and avoid speculation until the facts are known." (keep reading)

Bishop Blasts New Gay Jesus Play
The upcoming Sydney Mardi Gras is bringing out the gay in the boys from OZ. A play that will coincide with the international gay party destination even brings the gay out of the most controversial of figures, Jesus Christ. Naturally, religious leaders from all over Sydney were quick to condemn the Australian production of Corpus Christi, though it has yet to open.
"It is deliberately, not innocently, offensive and they're obviously having a laugh about it," commented the enraged Anglican Bishop of South Sydney, Robert Forsyth. "It's historical nonsense and I wouldn't want to go and see it. Life's too short."
The Bishop, along with the rest of Sydney's religious and conservative communities, feel that Corpus Christi's portrayal of Jesus Christ as a gay man crosses the line. Without stopping there, Terrence McNally's infamous hit depicts Jesus being seduced by Judas and performing the same-sex marriage of two apostles. The shock wave has decimated Sydney's conservative watchdogs. (keep reading)
