Brazil's Gay Men Want to See Soccer Star Kaká Naked

Brazilian soccer star Kaká, voted this month Europe's best soccer player, has now topped another list. Readers of G Magazine, a nationwide gay Brazilian publication named him the person they would most like to pose fully nude. In response, the February issue of G Magazine will feature a cover photo spread with a look-alike to the boyish football star, O Globo newspaper reports.

Landing the real Kaká would be virtually impossible because he is a strict evangelical Christian and already enjoys wide commercial success at home in Brazil and in Europe. Still, several well-known soccer players have posed fully nude for the publication.

Brutal Gay Teen Bashing in Spain

Witnesses say the brutal beating of a teenager outside a gay bar in Pamplona, Spain, was a hate crime. David Azkona, 19, was attacked by three men after leaving the bar the day after Christmas. GARA reports that Azkona was approached by the group on the street, who asked him, "Where are you going, maricón de mierda," roughly translated "faggot shit," along with sexually graphic slurs.

After Azkona was knocked to the ground, two of the men kicked and punched him all over his body, while the third watched and laughed. The victim was treated at Navarre Hospital for bruises to his legs and buttocks, a black eye and damage to his spleen. He was later released wearing a neck collar and using crutches, GARA reported.

One of the attackers at a Latin American accent, a friend of the victim added.

Real Madrid Shows Interest in Cristiano Ronaldo

Spanish La Liga leader Real Madrid is reportedly prepared to pay over $102 million for Manchester United wonderkid Cristiano Ronaldo.

Although the 22-year-old Portuguese star is under contract at Old Trafford until 2012, Ronaldo has expressed his desire to play in the Spanish league.

Sports daily As claims Madrid president Ramon Calderon will sell a few players at the end of the season in a bid to fund the move.

AC Milan's intention to keep its Brazilian star Kaka has reportedly motivated Calderon, who is keen to liven up Bernd Schuster's hard-working team with a media star, to consider Ronaldo.

Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes' close relationship with Real sports director Pedja Mijatovic may help negotiations succeed.

Prince William Favoured as Next Monarch

Britons favour Prince William over his father Charles as their next monarch, with widespread approval for William's girlfriend boosting his ratings, a poll shows.

More than half of 1,000 people polled said they would prefer the second-in-line to be the next to take the throne.

Prince William's popularity is greatest among the younger generation, with 70 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds favouring him as the next king, compared to just 47 percent of 55- to 64-year-olds.

The groundswell of support appears to have been helped by his rekindled romance with Kate Middleton.

Only 18 percent of those surveyed think she would not make a good addition to the royal family.

The nation is, however, split on whether Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall makes the grade, according to the survey for the Discovery Channel.

Just 42 percent regard Camilla as a good ambassador for the Royal family.

Although a third feel more warmly towards her since her marriage to Prince Charles, 68 percent said they preferred the late Princess Diana.(

Dutch Court Denies Gay Iranian Teen Asylum

A court in the Netherlands has ruled that a gay 19-year-old Iranian must return to the United Kingdom, where he faces deportation back to Iran, according to a report in the UK Gay News.

“I was refused the right to appeal of asylum in the Netherlands because of the Dublin Treaty,” Medhi told the UK Gay News by telephone Wednesday afternoon. “Obviously, I am very disappointed at judge’s decision." Medhi's lawyer is making a final appeal to the Netherlands High Court.

The ruling was based on the Dublin Treaty, a European Union law that prevents asylum seekers from applying in multiple E.U. states.

While studying in England, Medhi learned that Parham, his former boyfriend in Iran, had been arrested by authorities. Before being executed, Parham had revealed Medhi’s name to interrogators. Medhi fled to the Netherlands from England last spring when a tribunal dismissed his appeal against deportation. According to Medhi's uncle, the appeal for asylum failed because the tribunal judge found that dates on Iranian paperwork did not match the young man's story. However, the uncle told UK Gay News the Iranian calendar is different from that observed in the West. (The Advocate)
