Toronto`s Historic Glad Day Bookshop at Risk of Closing
The epitaph may soon be written on Glad Day Bookshop, North America's oldest gay and lesbian bookstore – and the only one of its kind left in Toronto.
Glad Day has suffered a big decline in the past six months and fears it will be forced to shut its 40-year-old doors by the end of summer if things don't improve.
If that happens, Toronto will lose much more than a bookshop – it will lose an “active archive” of gay heritage in the city and beyond, said co-manager Sholem Krishtalka.(keep reading)

JillZ Loves Football
Dutch apple cider brand Jillz had launched a new commercial clearly targeting gays (& I guess women).
Jillz wants you to vote against the rule that doesn't allow football players to take off their shirt after a goal by showing us what we are missing.

2010 Herndon Monument Climb Not So Hot :: the Grease Free Version
As they have for 70 years, students at the United States Naval Academy celebrated the end of their first year by scaling a 21-foot obelisk, the Herndon Monument.
In the past, it often took hours for plebes to hoist a peer on their shoulders to place an officer’s hat atop the obelisk.
On Monday, to make the tradition safer, the obelisk was not greased with lard, and plebes scaled it in two minutes and five seconds. (NYT)
