Michael Phelps Makes History With 19th Olympic Medal
Michael Phelps broke the Olympic medals record Tuesday with his 19th as the United States romped to a dominating win in 4x200-meter freestyle relay at the London Games.
With 19 career medals spanning three Olympics, Phelps moved one ahead of Soviet gymnast Larisa Latynina, who got her haul in 1956, 1960 and 1964. And he finally got his first gold of these games, bouncing back from the disappointment of settling for silver when he glided at the end of the 200 butterfly earlier Tuesday.
The United States team of Ryan Lochte, Conor Dwyer, Ricky Berens and Phelps on the anchor leg won in 6 minutes, 59.70 seconds. France took the silver in 7:02.77, while China was third in 7:06.30.
Phelps now has 15 golds, two silvers and two bronzes.(AP)

Patsy & Eddy's Absolutely Fabulous Olympic Torch Relay
Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley have paraded the Olympic flame through London's Kensington and Chelsea.
The actresses shared the torch-carrying duties in character as Absolutely Fabulous' Edina Monsoon and Patsy Stone.
The pair smiled and waved to the hundreds of spectators who lined the route as they completed the leg in a quick walk through Sloane Square. Despite donning trainers and the obligatory official white uniform, they managed to add a touch of glamour to proceedings.(AP)

Christian Bale Visits Colorado Shooting Victims
Christian Bale is meeting with victims of Friday's mass shooting at an Aurora hospital Tuesday afternoon.
Bale plays Batman in the new movie 'The Dark Knight Rises,' the film that was playing when a gunman killed 12 people and wounded almost 60 at an Aurora movie theater Friday.
One of the victims who survived the shooting, Carey Rottman, posted two photos of himself and Bale in an Aurora Medical Center hospital room.(above)

Dean Geyer Joins the Cast of 'Glee'
Fox has announced the network has added South African actor Dean Geyer and New York-born actor Jacob Artist for two very different roles on the hit musical show.
Geyer, who often rolls with a little too much scruff to be a believable high school student will portray Brody Weston, an older college student who gets a little smittten with Lea Michelle’s character, Rachel.
Jacob Artist will take on the role of Puck’s younger brother, Jake, who tries to audition for the Glee club, but has a little trouble overcoming his attitude.(source)

When gay Olympic athletes arrived in London this weekend, they got themselves settled, took a look around the Olympic village—and some promptly signed into Grindr, hoping to find either a nearby athlete or a local to hook up with.
The gay dating app—which locates other users in close proximity—was so overwhelmed, it crashed within the first few minutes athletes landed in London.
Luckily for everyone dependent on Grindr for their “day-to-day personal life”—including its founder, Joel Simkhai, who said he felt “disconnected” during the outage—the app was up and running after 24 hours. (Source)
