Today would have been the 80th birthday of the late San Francisco City Supervisor and openly gay politician Harvey Milk. Harvey Milk was assassinated in 1978 because of his sexuality.Harvey Milk's life is now celebrated on this day since the state of California made an official proclamation naming it Harvey Milk Day. It is a celebration that makes its way all around the country as people celebrate Harvey Milk's legacy and activism.
