Canadian MP Scott Brison Gay Christmas Card Attracts Hateful Comments

Scott Brison, a Liberal MP from Nova Scotia, sent out a Christmas card this year featuring him and his husband of two years, Maxime St. Pierre, in a field on their property in Cape Blomidon & Simba, their golden retriever.

The Globe & Mail (a large National Canadian newspaper) put the photo on its Politics blog and had to shut down comments to the site. The explanation was given thus:

"Editor's Note: Comments have been closed due to an overwhelming number of hateful and homophobic remarks. We appreciate that readers want to discuss this issue, but we can't allow our site to become a platform for intolerance.."

Just when you think Canada is so advanced when it comes to gay/same-sex issues, you get jerks posting homophobic remarks.

Anyhow, good for Scott Brison to have the Christmas balls to send a card like this to all his constituents.

Merry Christmas Scott

Merry Christmas, indeed. Very handsome couple - and the dog is gorgeous!
I wonder if it's homophobia or sheer jealousy? The letter gets my vote.
Divine card. Happy holidays ALL.

Just send the MP an email to congratulate him. Just wished that, here in Paris, France, our mayor had the balls to send us the same card, but each liberal country has it's own ways

Where is Cape Blomidon? I want to die in a just country, and it looks it.
