Pope : Humanity Needs Saving From Homosexuality

A suggestion by Pope Benedict XVI that homosexuality is as much of a threat to the survival of the human race as climate change sparked outrage among gay rights campaigners on Tuesday.

"It's the latest homophobic attack by this pope," said Gustav Hofer, co-director of a documentary on the life of a gay couple in Italy called "Suddenly Last Winter".

"The Vatican talks about homosexuality or transsexuality as if it were a whim, never as suffering," Hofer told AFP, adding that the Roman Catholic Church "reduces sexual orientation to the sexual act as if it had nothing to do with a person's identity."

In his end-of-year speech at the Vatican on Monday, the pope said gender theory blurred the distinction between male and female, and he called for "an ecology of the human being" to protect mankind "from self-destruction."(

Comments, from a fairly evil ex-Hitler Youth.

Wake up Pope Bigot the first.

People need to come together, not run and hide in a
12th century cave of ignorance.

The death throes of the old order, thrashing around like Dinosaurs toppling into the tar pits. Unfortunately, their dying rages do a lot of damage. But stay strong guys, the old order IS dying.

its probably easier to hang around Vatican garden pick up boys at night and pretend homosexuality is a threat ! like the US has now a african descendent as president one day Roman church will have a gay pope untill then he'll have to negotiate with gay politicians just as well

The Pope supposed be the great admiring symbol for the world. Unfortunately, can't say that right now. I really don't like him at all. He is stuck in the Dinosaur age. Aren't gay people in Italy paying taxes for his room and board in the Vatican?????

This pope is always seeking media attention.
As soon as the papacy drops below the collective radar, he comes out with something, anything, to grab media attention once again, the more controversial the better
Check out BBC World Service for one month and see for yourself.

He is trying to remain relevant in an age when in reality he is relevant only to the uneducated masses. And Tony (war criminal) Blair.

As Iain said:
"The death throes of the old order, thrashing around like Dinosaurs toppling into the tar pits."

The end of fear and superstition cannot come too soon, but is it not ironic that the followers of Christ who preached love and kindness, now espouse bigotry, fear, and hatred?

Pope Bigot the First??
Sadly he's just the latest in a long, long line of bigots. I wish we could believe that he's just an old ranting bigot, but what he says is taken as God's word my millions around the World....may God have mercy on his soul!

I would not misinterpret the pope's message. Knowing the teaching of the Catholic Church regarding homosexuality, I know the Pope is not against homosexuals. We cannot ingnore the fact that if this world would be 100% gay that it would mean the end of humanity...or not? The Catholic church teaches that homosexuals should be treated with respect...read for your self at

http://www.vatican.va/archive/ccc_css/archive/catechism/p3s2c2a6.htmChastity and homosexuality

It says the following:

2357 Homosexuality refers to relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. It has taken a great variety of forms through the centuries and in different cultures. Its psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity,141 tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered."142 They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

2358 The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God's will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord's Cross the difficulties they may encounter from their condition.

2359 Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection

Let's think a bit.

I would like to know what God is thinking right now about that. I guess he is saying "People, forgives him, He doesn't know what he is doing"

The world needs to be saved from the evils of the Roman Catholic church, not homosexuality.

What would you say to a gay Roman Catholic who respects the Roman Catholic Church?

As long as there are individuals who use religion as an excuse to point the finger of bigotry, there will never be any peace in this world. People are dying throughout the world because of and in the name of religion.

This latest outburst from the pope is nothing more than pure evil. Looks like old habits (sic) die hard for some fascists.
