My beloved Hector is gone. .Hector was always happy to see me and was the one constant in my life. I had an amazing 15 years with him and I have no regrets.
He was there for me during all the good times & all the bad times and I was there with him until the very last heart beat. I held him and told him how much I loved him, repeating it over and over again. I wanted it to be my voice that he would remember comforting him.
During this time, I’ve had many people offer me words of encouragement, strength and kindness…it has been greatly appreciated.
I have also been surrounded by amazing friends, who have been calling, visiting, comforting me and offering their support.
I thank you all.
My heart is breakingHector will be terribly missed but never forgotten!
Hector: I know you are no longer with me but in my heart you will always be that little puppy that I fell in love with 15 years ago. Rest now!

This is such sad news, but I'm happy to know that another wonderful dog companion loved, and in return was loved by, a wonderful human companion.

I hate to hear that Nuno. I know your hurting. I have found myself as I get older preferring the compnay of my dogs. Only my late mother was consistently overjoyed to see my as my babies are. Hang in there and good thoughts sent your way.

Thanks for treating my kindly my beloved friend for no heart in the world is more greatful.
Thanks for not breaking my spirit with a stick for though I might lick you hand between blows, your patience and understanding taught me the things I needed to learn.
You spoke to me often, for you voice is the worlds sweetist music, as you know by the fierce wagging of my tail when you footsteps falls upon my waiting ear.
You took me inside when it was cold and wet for I was a domesticated animal no longer accustomed to bitter elements. My greatest privilege was to sit by your feet.
You kepts my bowl filled with water for I could not tell you when I was thirsty. I had clean food to stay healthy so I could romp and play, walk by your side, and stand ready willing and able to protect you with my life.
Thanks for not taking heroic efforts to keep me going. My life was taken gently. I left the earth knowing that the last breath I drew was with you in the safest place on earth - in your hands.

My heart aches for you. I had the great pleasure of the companionship of two beagles and they are just the most wonderful of 'friends'. As you say, they ask for so little in return but Hector was obviously blessed to have spent his life with you, buddy.
