The sun shone down on this year's Amsterdam Canal Parade - part of the city's Gay Pride weekend - but the crowd that turned up to see the boats pass down the city's Prinsengracht canal and over the River Amstel was down on last year, although still around 250,000 people.There was also less naked flesh to be seen compared with some previous years, and the 'Rembrandt theme' chosen by the organisers in connection with this year's 400th anniversary of the great Dutch painter's birth was hardly visible at all.
