Madonna & the German Prosecutor

Madonna could be set to court more controversy of her current European tour with the news that German Prosecutors are to monitor hers shows in the country.

Officials say they will scrutinize the shows to see if Madonna's mock crucifiction could be construed as insulting religious beliefs.

However, the prosecutors have admitted that they will not attend the shows but will instead rely on media reports. Madge has already faced a barrage of criticism for the controversial portion of the live show from a number of religious groups in several countries.

Before her show in Rome on August 6 a spokesman for the Pope called for Madonna to be excommunicated adding that the show was a profanation of the cross.

Madonna plays Dusseldorf on Sunday following her shows in London and Cardiff this week.
