Reichen Lehmkuhl:Here's What We'll Say

Reichen Lehmkuhl, who won $1 million on the fourth season of CBS' "The Amazing Race" reality series, said he didn't report the abuse in the early 1990s to his superiors for fear of repercussions.

"I think it's the first time that I've said that that happened," he told ABC News. "I've been ashamed of it."

Pentagon spokesman Stewart Upton said there is little the military can do now unless Lehmkuhl requests an investigation and identifies his two alleged attackers.

"There are policies in place ... where can be provided with the most care and respect as possible," Upton told the Daily News.

Lehmkuhl, a 32-year-old model and actor, also criticized the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy, saying it "breaks down morale."

"Don't ask, don't tell is basically asking you to lie," he said. "How can you have a policy that tells you to lie within a system that preaches integrity?"

He also said he is supportive of boyfriend and former 'NSync singer Bass, who in July revealed he was gay.

"I'm really proud of Lance," he said. "A lot of what I saw in what he dealt with in coming out are things that I dealt with."

Lehmkuhl discusses the difficulties he faced as a gay male in the military in his book, "
