Former X Factor winner Joe McElderry has avoided going head-to-head with the champion of this year's contest – by releasing his Christmas album today.The openly-gay singer's LP, entitled Classic Christmas, comes just a few months after he won ITV's Popstar To Opera Star.
The win has revived his career, which had stalled after being dropped by Simon Cowell's Syco label.
It also comes two weeks before the X Factor final, the winner of which will attempt to secure the coveted Christmas Number 1.
Other albums released today include Kylie Minogue: Aphrodite Les Folies – Live In London and Olly Murs – In Case You Didn’t Know.(source)
