American swimmer Michael Phelps is set to return to competitive action for the first time following his three-month suspension.
Phelps was banned by USA Swimming, the national governing body for competitive swimming in the US, last February after a picture surfaced in a British tabloid showing him seemingly inhaling from a marijuana pipe. His suspension was officially over on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old American swimmer holds the record for the most gold medals won at a single Olympic with the eight he bagged last year at the Beijing Olympic Games.
