And nowhere is that divide more readiliy discernible than in the great WHITE north. Imagine that, Michael Bublé looking smugly into the camera on CTV's etalk daily and saying of Michael Richard's racist rant, 'I was greatly inspired'. Of course this he could pull off in a land where I still haven't gotten past the front door of Toronto's Montréal jazz club all these years. After being blocked from entry for more than 30 minutes I finally got up to see Betty Carter in 1990 at the Top of the Senator, to find myself the only Black there, at what the Jazz Festival volunteer lied claiming it to be private function. Oliver Jones was the only other Black. So forgive some of us for not seeing red when JazzFM in toronto has but a token black host. How can a people so reviled then be aped and their greatest cultural achievement their unsurpassed musical genius, Jazz be white washed by hateful looking dreck like Bublé, and Krall. They are merely totems in the great divide of whitewashing the music while economically marginalising and criminalizing a people all the while every obsessed middle class white aping Black culture is rewarded financially, as though that in any way invalidates a people or in anyway engenders anything beyond loathing in the people being racially predatorily robbed of their culture. it's not jazz it's race music and ultimately why settle for Timex when you can have a Panerai! the divide grows ever wider, indeed then immigration minister lucienne robillard came to vancouver announcing to chinese business persons 'before we use to favour some people from the south, but all they do is commit crime and collect welfare, now we want you asians because you are smart, have money and start businesses...
