Cleveland's Big Gay Bathhouse - Openning Soon

The Flex Bathhouse Club, the largest gay bathhouse, operates in five major U.S. cities. There will soon be one open in Cleveland.

The owner, Charles Fleck, gave NewsChannel5 an exclusive preview of the 50,000-square-foot facility.

The new facility is raising concerns for local law enforcement surrounding businesses and residents.

"Well, I'm gay and don't believe people should be persecuted just because they're gay," said Charles Fleck, owner of Club Flex.

The native Clevelander and millionaire believes most of the concern over the opening of his palatial gay bathhouse at East 25th Street and Hamilton Avenue is gay discrimination.

WEWS reported protests, legal battles, health concerns and controversy have followed Fleck’s other gay bathhouses in cities like Columbus and Phoenix.

Fleck even temporarily shut down his Columbus club in April 2003 because of an alleged building code violation.

The facility will cater to gay or straight patrons who will be treated to indoor/outdoor pools, temperature-controlled showers, saunas, steam rooms, a rooftop beach and 150 private suites.
