Zachary Quinto: I'm 'A Gay Man'

Actor Zachary Quinto has come out as a gay man.

The 34-year-old Quinto, known for his role on NBC's Heroes and as Dr. Spock in JJ Abrams Star Trek reboot, talks about his sexuality in an interview with New York magazine.

Quinto says his decision to come out was brought on by the recent death of 14-year-old Jamey Rodemeyer, who committed suicide after being bullied for being gay.(slater)

Quinto first referred to himself as "a gay man" while talking about his role in the recent off-Broadway revival of "Angels in America," where he portrayed a man who abandons his AIDS-stricken boyfriend.

“At the same time, as a gay man, it made me feel like there’s still so much work to be done, and there’s still so many things that need to be looked at and addressed.”
