It is reported that 'Fantastic Four' star Chris Evans has agreed to play Captain America in the new big screen version of the Marvel comic.
The Hollywood Reporter and Variety say that the Joe Johnston-directed 'The First Avenger: Captain America' is due in cinemas on 22 July, 2011.
Evans' deal is said to be for at least three films in the new franchise, with appearances also planned in the upcoming 'The Avengers' (2012) and other Marvel projects.(source)
