Crusaders' Gareth Thomas Ready for Homophobic Abuse

Gareth Thomas has insisted he will be able to deal with any homophobic flak that might come his way as he embarks on a new adventure with Welsh rugby league side Crusaders.

Having switched codes, the record-breaking former Wales rugby union and British Lions captain is confident he can cope with any verbal abuse following his announced that he was homosexual last December as he prepares for his Crusaders debut.

"I felt I had the strength to do it," Thomas, 35, said. "I'm comfortable in myself and I'm comfortable in my team.(
