Campaign Grows To Get Betty White To Host SNL

There’s not much that 88 year old actress Betty White hasn’t done – but hosting “Saturday Night Live” is one of them.

Fans of “The Golden Girls” want to see their golden girl on the seminal hip live-sketch comedy show. They have started a campaign on Facebook to pressure “SNL” producers to ask White to host.

The Facebook campaign gained a huge momentum during the airing of a new Snickers commercial featuring White during the 2010 Super Bowl.

Although the Super Bowl has become a time for advertisers to roll out their best commercials, the Snickers advertisement is getting just as much praise as the work of New Orleans Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees.

Betty is not the last Golden Girl, Rue McClanahan who played Rose Nylund is still alive. She suffered a stroke earlier this year, and Betty sent her a get well wish "Dear Rue, I hope you hurry up and die so I can be the last Golden Girl left. NOT KIDDING!" - Betty

Betty isn't the sole survivor of GOLDEN GIRLS. Rue McClenahan is still quite alive!

I'm a member of that Facebook group - I hope she gets to host!

But to clarify - she isn't the last surviving member of the Golden Girls. Rue McLanahan is still very much alive. :)

Betty is too good to appear on that lame, tired SNL.

That would be too much for an old woman. It would be embarrassing and lame. Let us have great memories of Betty.
