D-Day : 65 Years Ago

Personnel of Royal Canadian Navy Beach Commando "W" landing on Mike Beach, Juno sector of the Normandy beachhead.D-Day was one of our most bloodiest battles. It was a slaughter, they were unorganized and uninformed of what they were up against.

There were 6 beaches attacked Sword Beach, Juno Beach, Gold Beach, Omaha Beach Pointe du Hoc and, Utah Beach.

The date scheduled to invade on June 5, 1944, but was postponed due to bad seas and weather.

The next day which was June 6, 1944 General Dwight D. Eisenhower decided to attack the beaches.
