French Open: Ginepri Remains Lone American in Paris

Maybe it's the dedicated offseason work. Maybe it's the Midas touch of Jose Higueras, the clay-court guru also working with Roger Federer.
Maybe it's the work with sports psychologists, or finally bottoming out from two years of inexplicable underperformance.

Maybe there is no explanation at all.

Whatever the reason, Robby Ginepri — who had never won a match at the French Open in five tries and came into Paris with a 6-24 career record on clay — is a round away from equaling the best result at Roland Garros for an American man in five years, when Andre Agassi made the quarterfinals.(USAToday)
