That waterfall is Dettifos, in Iceland's far north, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. It's remote and beautiful in a primordial way, which is why it was chosen to represent primordial Earth for "Prometheus". And, yes, you can walk right up to the edge and look 150 feet down into the churning torrent. I have pictures of myself standing in that exact spot.
