A spokesperson for the 42-year-old singer told JustJared:
'Ricky and Carlos have mutually agreed to end their relationship but continue to be united by friendship and their shared experiences,' the rep said in a statement.
Ricky, who dated the stock broker for three years, hinted at the breakup in a series of recent tweets.
'Change oh changes,' he shared with his nearly 10 million followers on Friday.
The pair began dating in 2010, the same year that Ricky announced he was gay on his official website.
'I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am,' he wrote on March 29, 2010.
In 2011, he thanked Carlos during his acceptance speech of the Vito Russo Award at the GLAAD Media Awards ceremony.
Ricky became a father to twins in 2008 via a surrogate. (dailymail)
