ABC drama "Brothers & Sisters" will not be returning for a sixth season after all. The network had hoped to tie up the plot in one final season, however due to cost constraints, ABC failed to reach a deal with the cast.Launched in 2006, the show earned actress Sally Field an Emmy for her performance as the Walker family matriarch. Calista Flockhart, Balthazar Getty and Ron Rifkin were also stars in the show.

Things are tough all over. Even for the rich and beautiful.
The final episode a week ago Sunday was all very neatly tied up and served well as a finale. I just hate it when I like a show and it gets cancelled with nothing resolved.
The same situation seemed quite apparent in the season finale for CSI New York, so I won't be surprised to see that notice sooner than later.
This is really sad. B&S always makes me think. Sad...
