Meet The New Superman: Henry Cavill

British actor Henry Cavill, will finally get to don Superman’s cape in the new Man of Steel movie, its distributor said Sunday, almost a decade after he failed to make the cut for the previous film.

Cavill, 27, will play the dual roles of mild-mannered newspaperman Clark Kent and his high-flying alter ego in the film, which Warner Bros. will release in December 2012. Its formal title has not been announced yet.

Cavill is perhaps best known for his role as Charles Brandon, the brother-in-law of Henry VIII, in the royal drama “The Tudors.” (

Cavill is an actor, people, and a very good one, who is also really good-looking, sharply masculine, with dark hair and a great jawline and good eyes. Think he’ll be able to do the accent, and he’ll look like Superman. If you’ve seen him in The Tudors you also know he’s a very strong actor. this is a really tough role to pull off.

He can act, he can fly, he's gorgeous beyond description!!!! Can I play Lois Lane? Or at least hide in the phone booth when he changes!!
