The United States was in mourning yesterday for Eunice Kennedy Shriver, President Kennedy’s sister and founder of the Special Olympics for the mentally disabled.
Political leaders and families of disabled children paid tribute to the Kennedy matriarch, who died after a long illness at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, the Massachusetts home of the Kennedy dynasty.
